New Direction in a New Year

So, God kept us pretty busy in 2019 and as a I result haven’t touched this website much in several months. I thought this was a good time to get back on that horse, by letting you know what is happening with Ramona and me.

In late 2019, we were called to ministry in the Seymour Park and Tank neighborhoods of Green Bay. As of last Friday, we are officially Faith by the Bay Ministries, LLC. I was ordained by the National Association of Christian Ministers in December.

We have been blessed with a donation that will fund an income for me in 2020. We are also working on sustainability for 2021 and beyond. So, what is this ministry. Essentially, we are following God’s lead to bring the Gospel to these communities as Jesus directed his apostles:

Luke 10:5, 8-9:

5 When you enter a house, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’ 8 “When you enter a town and are welcomed, eat what is offered to you. 9 Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.

For us, that means:

  1. Speak peace to them.
  2. Fellowship with them.
  3. Take care of their needs.
  4. Proclaim the Good News

We pray over these communities, we get to know the people in these communities, we love them and serve them. All the things Jesus did and commanded His followers to do. We are doing this by literally getting out into the neighborhoods and meeting people. Next, we will be doing a series of activities. First is a community meal. Then a movie night in February and other events March through May.

In summer 2020, we bring Picnic in the Park(PIP) to Seymour Park. This is an outgrowth of a mission of Oakbrook Church at Joannes Park on the east side. We will feed and love people every Wednesday evening during the summer, and hold a fellowship/worship afterwards for anyone who wishes to attend. God is still giving us direction on what fall 2020 will look like.

We have been blessed so have more than a half-dozen Green Bay area churches come alongside us to one degree or another and lift up our ministry. We have been blessed with amazing people who are listening to God in raising us up in this ministry. We have been blessed in extraordinary ways with His provision.

As for this website; I will continue to update you with blog posts and will be working to post podcast interviews with people of faith who have inspirational stories to share.

2019 was a year of waiting on God and trusting in Him. As the year concluded He showed his faithfulness in amazing ways. We are so excited to see how He will use us in 2020 and beyond! We ask for your prayers for His provision and guidance as we move forward. Blessings to you in 2020!

  1. Glad to see you posting again, but I miss hearing you on podcasts. When you can, of course, Jerry. You do have an outlet. How about recording your sermons and loading them up on your page?
