The Start of a New Season

February 8, 2019 marked the one year anniversary of my last show as a 5 day a week talk radio host. In the weeks immediately after that career ended, I decided to launch this website to continuing expressing my opinions on the issues of the day. Then came May 10, 2018. That was the day I heard the call to ministry. Since that time posting here became infrequent. By early summer, I wasn’t posting at all.

After we returned from a European vacation in late August, I decided to leave the site dormant. I posted one podcast in November, with a friend. The first week of February saw Ramona and me travel to Orlando for a ministry assessment through Converge, the organization with which our church, Oakbrook in De Pere, is affiliated. Ramona and I received direction from God during that assessment as to what our ministry will look like.

God still has yet to tell us exactly where he wants us, but the assessment made it clear that it is His will that we serve him full time. He will find the right place for us at the right time. For now, that new season will begin with the conversion of jerrybaderlive.com to a faith-based site, featuring writings and podcasts.

I am still blessed to occasionally fill in for Josh Dukelow on WHBY, Appleton and Steve Scaffidi and Jeff Wagner on WTMJ, Milwaukee. Those conversations will not be faith-based in nature, but as I strive to do in all facets of my life, my words will be guided by my faith.

The Friday before the assessment, I learned that Media Trackers would be coming to an end. Sometime God closes a door; sometimes He kicks you right out of it. The latter is obviously true in this case. At the moment, I am “between positions,” as they say. We trust God has a plan and a place for us.

The conversations here will sometimes be devotional in nature, sometimes they will explore the intersection between God and politics. Sometimes they will be commentary on religious issues. The goal will always be the same: to give glory to God.

I shall take every season He gives me to serve Him and fulfill His perfect plan for Ramona and me.
